About PhishTank
PhishTank provides a collaborative platform for users to report and review suspected phishing URLs. Once a URL is submitted, the PhishTank community votes on whether it is a phish. A site is verified as a phish once it reaches a certain threshold of 'Is a phish' votes. This data is made available for free via a public API, which developers, researchers, and security professionals can use to integrate real-time phishing protection into their applications and services. The service, operated by Cisco, aims to create a more secure internet by pooling and sharing threat intelligence from a global community of users.
