About GitHub Copilot

GitHub Copilot is a cloud-based artificial intelligence tool that provides autocompletion-style suggestions to developers. It analyzes the context of the file being edited, along with related files, to offer real-time suggestions directly within the editor. Copilot is trained on a vast dataset of public source code from GitHub repositories. It can understand natural language prompts (in comments) to generate code, create unit tests, and even suggest approaches for complex algorithms. It is available as an extension for popular IDEs like Visual Studio Code, JetBrains IDEs, and Neovim, serving individual developers, businesses, and enterprises.
