About Elastic
Elastic offers a comprehensive platform built on a single technology stack for a wide array of use cases. At its core is Elasticsearch, a distributed search and analytics engine, complemented by Kibana for data visualization, Logstash for data processing, and Beats for data shipping. This stack, often called the ELK stack, is a popular open-source solution for log analytics, application performance monitoring (APM), and security information and event management (SIEM). Elastic provides these tools as a managed service on the cloud (Elastic Cloud) or for self-hosting. The platform is designed to ingest and store large volumes of data in near real-time and allow users to search, analyze, and visualize it quickly, making it suitable for enterprise search, observability, and security applications.
Core Components (Elastic Stack)
Elasticsearch
A distributed, RESTful search and analytics engine capable of solving a growing number of use cases.
Kibana
An open user interface that lets you visualize your Elasticsearch data and navigate the Elastic Stack.
Logstash
A server-side data processing pipeline that ingests data from a multitude of sources simultaneously, transforms it, and then sends it to a 'stash' like Elasticsearch.
Beats
A platform for single-purpose data shippers. They send data from hundreds or thousands of machines and systems to Logstash or Elasticsearch.
Solutions
Enterprise Search
Build powerful, modern search and discovery experiences for your apps, websites, and workplace.
Observability
Unify logs, metrics, APM traces, and more from your ecosystem in a single, scalable stack.
Security
Enable SIEM, endpoint security, and cloud security to detect, investigate, and respond to threats.
Deployment Options
Elastic Cloud
A family of managed SaaS offerings including Elasticsearch Service, Elastic App Search Service, and Elastic Site Search Service.
Self-Managed
Deploy and manage the Elastic Stack on your own infrastructure, either on-premises or in your preferred cloud.
