About Azure Synapse Analytics
Azure Synapse Analytics is an integrated analytics platform that unifies data integration, enterprise data warehousing, and big data analytics in a single service. It allows users to query vast amounts of data using either serverless on-demand or provisioned resources at scale. The platform combines SQL technologies for data warehousing with Apache Spark for big data, enabling a collaborative environment for data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts within a single workspace called Synapse Studio. It features built-in ETL/ELT capabilities and deep integration with other Azure services like Power BI, Azure Machine Learning, and Azure Data Lake Storage. Microsoft now positions its newer service, Microsoft Fabric, as the primary analytics solution, encouraging a migration path from Synapse.
